This is a quick getting started guide for Folly.
The first thing you'll need to do is fill out the form below. Once we receive this form, we will analyze your site so that we can optimize our configuration to work with your site.
While you are waiting on us to analyze your site and set up things on our end, you can go ahead and add a couple of DNS records to speed up the process of getting your site up and running.
First, tell us what your domain name is so that we can personalize these instructions for you.
In order to validate your website, you'll need to add a DNS CNAME record for your domain.
Type | CNAME |
---|---|
Name |
_acme-challenge.{{rootDomain}}. NOTE: this record name begins with an underscore |
Value | {{rootDomain}}.follydns.com |
TTL | 1 hour |
Also, for Folly to function reliably, you'll need to create a DNS A record that points to the IP Address of your website.
Type | A |
---|---|
Name | backend.{{rootDomain}}. |
Value | The IP address of your website e.g. {{domainIP}} |
TTL | 1/2 hour |
Once you've added those DNS records, just hang tight. We'll shoot you an email when we have everything set up and ready to go on our end. This should take less than half an hour during normal business hours (Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm Central Time).
Once we have everything good to go on our end, you'll get an email with instructions on how to point your domain at Folly. Once you've completed these steps, you should immediately see fewer resources consumed on your server. However, because of the way DNS works, it may take up to a few hours before all trafic is flowing through Folly.
